Sault Wines was hatched round a dinner table in Manchester by two friends who together shared a passion for good business, natural wine, tasty food and enjoying life.

Marcus Saide & Yaw Djang like to drink wine and to eat. They regularly entertained friends at home, trying to source that special, yet undiscovered bottle of wine to accompany the food. 

On one of those nights while discussing another mutual love, Portugal, they wondered why the amazing wines they drank there, from the Douro to the Algarve, rarely found its way to the UK, and so began their mission. To unearth and represent beautiful wines and and adventurous wine makers you may never have heard of. 

Expect stories from the actual wine makers, road trips, buying adventures and of course, plenty of the really good low intervention, natural wines cared for and produced from all regions of Portugal as we scour this beautiful country from top to toe. 

Marcus Saide is the co-founder and co-owner of the award winning Manchester eatery Trove and the critically acclaimed natural wine bar and restaurant, Erst . A born and bred Mancunian, setting up his first business in 2011 having seen the growth of "New Wave" hospitality, he now spends his time between a home in Lisbon and Manchester.

Another born and bred Manc Yaw Djang is the co-owner of iconic Manchester gift & homeware store Oklahoma, and also owner and founder of the premium organic cold pressed juice company, One Zero Zero.
