Produced in Dão region of Portugal by João Tavares de Pina at Qunita da Boavista.

Rufia Mencia is a young red wine produced from 100% Mencia grapes.

Light youthful medium ruby colour to this wine. Lovely cherry and raspberry notes on the nose.  Medium tannins and medium body with more darker cherry flavours on the palate medium alcohol at 12%. 

Unfiltered. This wine has spent 10 days on skins with 9 months on the Lees in stainless steel tanks with an additional year of ageing. Bottled in June 2020 and released in July 2020.

Great served slightly chilled for a fresh red, good with grilled vegetables, shellfish, cured meats, pork dishes or a Prawn and Sausage rice stew.
